The Timpson review of school exclusion was commissioned by the government in March 2018 to explore how headteachers use exclusions in practice and why some groups of children are more likely to be excluded than others.
The review made 30 recommendations for system improvement, all of which were accepted in principle by the government, which detailed its intentions in an official response.
